DETAILS: E2M provided complete MEP engineering services for this new main office in a prominent commercial area outside of Cincinnati, OH. This project presented several design challenges including the unique building shape, number of floors, the amount of exterior glass and both interior and exterior finishes. Our lighting design had to accent the modern interior décor and finishes using number of specialty fixtures and well-placed recessed lighting. The exterior façade required just as much attention as the interior with all the glazing and varying materials. The exterior lighting was comprised ground mounted, wall mounted and concealed LED ribbon lights to achieve striking and memorable presence. The building uses a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) HVAC system. This system was chosen to maximize energy efficiency, keep mechanical chases to a bare minimum, and allow for a high degree of occupant control. Given the height of the building and the low water pressure available a fire pump and a domestic water booster pump were also needed. To protect our client’s data and most importantly, their customers’ data, we engineered a 450kW full building back up generator along with a 80kW UPS system to keep them up and running in any situation.
